What Your Search May Uncover
Every immigration story began with a journey. Using the name and information you provide, I will follow the clues through available passenger lists and arrival records to look for your ancestor’s journey to America. I am often able to find the arrival record, and when I do, it can reveal much more than a name and date.
Your findings may include:
• Copies of the relevant passenger-manifest pages
• Details about the ship and voyage
• A historical image of the ship
• A newspaper article or other historical context, when available
If the exact arrival record remains elusive, your research will still be valuable. You will receive a summary of the records and name variations I searched, what I discovered along the way, and my recommendations for the best next steps.
what to expect
Most searches uncover helpful answers or promising clues, but old records can be missing, damaged, unindexed, or recorded under an unexpected spelling. For that reason, a specific passenger manifest cannot be guaranteed—but you can be assured that I will use your research time thoughtfully and thoroughly.
